Confirmation preparation for Confirmation normally takes place during a youth’s 9th or 10th grade of school, although older youth may be enrolled in the program upon parent request. Youth in the 9th and 10th grades are automatically registered for the Confirmation preparation program when they are registered in the parish’s weekly 9-12 Youth Ministry program.
Confirmation preparation takes place through sessions held monthly during the preparation year. In addition to the monthly sessions, the youth will participate in service projects and attend a retreat.
In order to celebrate Confirmation, youth need to participate regularly in the weekly youth ministry program, attend the sacramental preparation sessions, and participate in the service and retreat experiences. Candidates for Confirmation also must have previously celebrated the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and Eucharist.
